Congratulations! Hangman’s Graveyard was a truly great program. Your commentary, the photography and the way it told the story of both the Don Jail and your work there, all gave the program great impact, with its combination of horror and sensitivity. Ed Rutherford
Quite enjoyed watching Hangman’s Graveyard on the History Channel last night. Well done! Chris Watts
Hi Mr Williamson,
I saw a program last night on the History channel on the Toronto jail. It was called the Hangman’s Graveyard. It was a good program. Your team must have found all kind of interesting artifacts.
Take care,
Jean-Francois Beaulieu
I did so much enjoy the detective show last night. Looks like the TV crew was right there all along, not just when you started turning up syphilitics, ring-barked skulls, boots and crucifixes. Rollo Myers, Architectural Conservancy of Ontario
I just wanted to send you a quick note to say what a great job you and your team did with the Don Jail program last night. It was really interesting to see the field work that went into the project. You did a great job narrating the story and really brought the story of each man to life. Great work! Keith Lacy
I wanted to congratulate you on ‘The Hangman’s Graveyard’ televised last evening. I enjoyed it immensely. I have had a morbid curiousity about The Don Jail going back to my childhood and I was fortunate enough to see inside this past summer during the ‘Doors Open’ event. My great aunt (on my father’s side) was a member of the Salvation Army and used to sing for the death row inmates prior to their execution (sometime in the 1930s). My great grandfather, also a member of the Army, used to minister to the death row inmates. Christine McLelland
I just finished watching the Hangman. What a terrific job! I enjoyed every minute and my only complaint is that it finished too quickly! Congratulations! Victoria Lywood
Great show! It was well done; it kept us interested the entire time, flowed well, good material…all in all, really good! Congrats! Sally Dakin
Last night I watched “The Hangman’s Graveyard” on the History Channel. It was excellent. Is it from this year? If so, I think it would be a great submission to the Committee. Ellen Foulkes, Canadian Archaeological Association

Hello,
Thanks for contacting me and letting me see the finished product. It was a real pleasure to participate in the program and I’m so glad it helps bring the history of the old Don to light. I have been trying to save whatever I can from this beautiful building to preserve our history as officers in the service, and allow the public a little taste of what life was like on the other side of those walls. You guys did a great job. Many people will actually miss this place, believe it or not
